EETS OBU
Our technology – a cutting-edge on-board unit (EETS OBU) meets all the requirements for providing toll services within Europe (EETS). It supports satellite positioning technology, DSRC microwave technology, and cellular network data communication.
Benefits of our EETS OBU
- the OBU is proven by many years of trouble-free operation in several European countries (produced by the same manufacturer as the OBUs used in the national systems of the Czech Republic and Slovakia)
- accurate recording of the vehicle’s route: this is crucial for the correct calculation of the amount of toll
- simple installation: even without technical skills or tools;
- clear display screen: reduces the risk of an incorrect setting by displaying overall operational status, prepaid toll balance, signal status, assigned Business ID, and other data
- displays text messages sent to the OBU
- along with the unit, you will receive support in Czech
Our OBU integrates 3 key technologies:
Satellite GPS technology
for positioning (CNSS: GPS, GLONASS, and GALILEO) – ensures the collection of data on the use of specified road sections
GSM/GPRS technologii
for communication within mobile networks – used for data transfer between the OBU and other information systems within the electronic toll system
Microwave DSRC technology
for short-distance communication – used to check toll payers as a part of the toll enforcement process
Use
The display on the OBU helps reduce the risk of driver errors when setting the EETS OBU and thus subsequent penalties for inaccurately paid tolls. The display indicates the operating status, prepaid toll balance, signal status and other data. An essential advantage of the OBU is its simple installation without the need for technical skills and without tools. Both the installation in the cigarette lighter socket and fixed installation can be chosen.
Issuance of the equipment following registration
- the EETS OBU is issued to a carrier after signing up for the Toll&More service and paying the refundable deposit.
- in case of online registration via the Customer Zone, the EETS OBU will be sent by a courier service to an address specified by the carrier. The usual delivery time for an EETS OBU is 3-5 working days.
- in case of registration at a Point of Sale, the EETS OBU is issued immediately after registration and payment of the refundable deposit.
Returning EETS OBU
An unused EETS OBU – for example, due to the vehicle being sold or its long-term shutdown – can be returned by the carrier in two ways:
- by post to a POS address
