Frequently Asked Questions

What is EETS?

The EETS is an abbreviation of the European Electronic Toll Service. The EETS represents an expansion of how tolls can be paid in individual member countries of the European Union. It introduces the option for commercial companies (EETS Providers) to provide their EETS OBU to a carrier if the necessary conditions are met in individual countries. It operates in all countries where an EETS Provider is accredited and provides for proper toll collection. As a result, a carrier can use one single EETS OBU in all of these countries based on one contract with the EETS Provider. The tolls are paid to the EETS Provider, which transfers the relevant fees to the relevant national electronic toll system operator.

Is the toll in the EETS mode the same as that of the national providers?

The toll rate is always the same. The exact toll rates apply if you drive under registration with a national electronic toll system operator or under the EETS mode. In particular, you can save time, by operating one vehicle with one OBU under a contract with one partner.

Is it worthwhile switching to the EETS?

Certainly yes, it is worthwhile for all entities providing international haulage services.

I have an OBU from a national toll service provider. Do I need to replace it?

If you wish to benefit from the EETS, you need to get an OBU from an EETS Provider. At Toll&More, we will provide you with a reliable OBU that is easy to use, and we also provide support for its set-up. After registration, you can pick it up in person at a Point of Sale or we will send it to your designated address by a courier service.

What should I do with the old OBU?

With Toll&More, you will receive an EETS OBU that ensures proper toll payment in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. You can, therefore, return the old OBUs for these markets following the rules of the national EETS Operators in these countries (this can usually be done at Points of Sale or the OBUs can be sent back by post – (appropriately packed to prevent damage during transit.).
The national EETS Provider will then refund your deposit and, in the case of the Pre-Paid mode, the unused amount of tolls in accordance with its Terms & Conditions.

What is Pre-Paid mode?

This is the easiest way to pay tolls used mainly by smaller carriers. The toll is simply prepaid in the form of credit, similar to prepaid mobile calling cards. With Toll&More, you can instantly top up your credit for toll payments and start driving.

Who will be my contractual partner with Toll&More?

The contractual partner is PaySystem, s.r.o.

Who will issue a tax document/invoice for the toll used?

PaySystem, s.r.o. will issue a tax document/invoice at an agreed-upon frequency (to be set in the Customer Zone). The invoice includes the tolls charged in a specified period and the remaining credit we register on your customer account.

Will the driver know if they are running low or out of prepaid toll credit?

Yes, the EETS OBU notifies you of low credit with a sound notification and a light indicator on the display.

How can I top up my credit on my customer account?

Funds to the customer account can be topped up in cash, by non-cash wire transfer, or by a credit/debit card (online in the Customer Zone or at one of the Points of Sale). You can find detailed information in the Customer Zone.

I have wired money to the customer account to top up my credit. How long will it take for the credit top-up to be reflected in the OBU?

All payments are processed without unreasonable delay. If the credit is prepaid using a credit/debit card or in cash at a POS, the customer account balance will increase almost immediately. When paying via wire transfer, please consider the time required for the funds to be credited to the account, which may take 2-3 working days. We recommend consulting the deadlines with your bank and then checking the crediting of funds to your account in the Customer Zone.

How can I check if my credit is sufficient?

The OBU indicates the credit status. If the light is green, there is sufficient credit. Orange means that the credit (bank guarantee) is insufficient to cover/pay for the toll. Red means you are blocked from continuing your journey. Everything is described in detail in the EETS OBU Instructions for Use, which is included in the EETS OBU package.

How can I file a complaint?

You can submit a complaint through the Customer Zone or at a Contact Point. Use the complaint form located on the customer portal. The complaint must include your identification details and a description of the issue.
